Magazine Subscriptions: Notice requires several weeks
Friends and Relatives
Schools
Social Security, Medicare, etc
Present and Past Employers (Taxes)
Drivers License Division and Department of Motor Vehicles
Life, Health, Auto and Homeowners Insurance
Bank:
Set up new accounts and transfer funds if necessary
Arrange credit references
Order new checks
Utility Companies:
Gas: Questar Gas
Power: Rocky Mountain Power, Local City
Water: Local City
Telephone: Qwest
Internet: Comcast, Others
Cable: Comcast
Satellite: All Providers
Medical ~ Histories:
Ask Doctor/Dentist for referrals
Transfer needed prescriptions, eyeglasses, X-rays
Obtain birth records, medical records, etc
Don’t forget to:
Plan for transporting of pets
Clean rugs and clothing before moving
Check with your Moving Company regarding:
Insurance coverage, labor, arrival day, shipping papers, method of payment, etc
On Moving Day:
Carry enough cash until banking connections are made
Pack enough clothes and toiletries for the move
Carry valuable items yourself or use registered mail
Double-check all storage areas!
