Working with a Realtor...
Whether you are looking to Buy or Sell, there are basic things that you should know.
Before you Start Many consumers believe that they can work with several agents at once. This can cause a lot of problems, and any agent who allows you to do this lacks experience or has unethical practices. This means that you need to decide on one agent to work with. The best way to decide on an agent is to ask for referrals from friends and family, who may have worked with a good agent recently. You may also want to look at advertising, or see which agent specializes in the area you are looking to buy or sell.
Choosing an Agent When you start interviewing agents, you should decide on an agent who has knowledge, experience and a good work ethic. If you choose an agent who does not have these qualities, you may experience problems or incur liability that could have been avoided.
If Selling, Consider some of these things: 1-Find out what your home is Really Worth. Request a Comparative Market Analysis, also called a CMA, which shows the market value of similar homes in the area that are for sale or have recently sold. 2- How is the agent going to market your home? 3- How often will you be contacted by the agent? 4- What online resources do they offer you as a client? 5- How long have they been licensed as a real estate agent? How many buyers and sellers has the agent helped in the last year? 6-What is the commission that the agent charges and when is it collected? |
